Our First Vacation
Angela and I took a Memorial Weekend
vacation to the Indiana Dunes and Great America. It was very fun. We
had a great time shopping and hanging out together. It was not an
expensive trip either (except for the clothes!) We left Friday, May 28,
1999 around 9 am and went to Indiana. The dunes are right on Lake
Michigan. Some of them are pretty tall. We hung out at the beach,
went on a nature hike, and did lots of shopping. There was a HUGE outlet
mall about 15 minutes from us in Michigan City, IN. We spent quite a bit
of time and money there. On saturday night we left Indiana and headed
towards Great America. Sunday we spent the day at GA. It was very
fun. The Raging Bull is the greatest roller coaster. We had to wait
in line for almost 2 hours to ride it, but I would say that it is definately
worth the wait! We got home on Monday, May 31 about 6 pm. Enough
talk - on to the pictures:
The Beach

The beach. It was really long - Hey
look at that cool power plant right on the beach!
More beach. On the left is a picture of
Angela at the bottom of a dune that I still had yet to go down. Pretty
tall, eh? On the right is a parasailer. This guy was really
stupid. His filght lasted all of about 5 seconds and then he had to climb
all the way back up the hill which probably took 5 minutes and was much more
tiring. He didn't do that many times!
Lake Michigan. Angela in the corner -
great photography!
Mt. Baldy - The biggest sand dune that you are allowed to climb
up. It is like 180ft tall. And a pain to climb up. - These pictures
are from the top, just in case you were wondering if i climbed it.
Sunset Pictures from atop Mt Baldy. It was
much more beautifuly in real life.
The beginning and end of our hike - that
was a crap load of stairs. Kind of hard to see, but the left is from the
bottom and the right is from the top.
Picture from atop the stairs of the dunes
and Lake Michigan. My soda can in the bottom left - More quality
photography!
On our hike we ran across a detour in the
path because one of the big dunes had shifted and covered the old path.
You can see that the old walkway is completely covered. On the left is
Angela and on the right is me.
Gilly on the beach and in the car on the
way home.

Angela on the beach. She is pretty cute isn't she? I
hope I don't get in trouble for this...
